Team

Most of the team was based in Finland, with some colleagues distributed in Spain, specifically in Madrid and Seville. English was the official language for communication among team members, facilitating collaboration across diverse geographical locations.

Approach

We worked in 2-week Sprints following agile methodologies. The team's focus was to address different areas of the monolithic application under our responsibility, from new implementations to critical security aspects. Adapting to the project's needs was key, which required us to intervene in various layers of the software, ensuring that each new feature or adjustment met the established quality and security standards.

Delivery

Each developer worked independently within the Sprint but had the support of Senior colleagues in case of doubts. Each assigned task included mandatory unit tests, which had to be submitted to the QA team. To meet deadlines, it was essential to complete the development and unit tests at least 2 or 3 days before the Sprint's end, ensuring smooth and timely delivery. Additionally, every week, I was responsible for presenting the updates of the new version of the application to the Stakeholders, providing a clear view of the progress and implemented changes.

Projects

In4mo Oy Project

Implementation of features using Spring on the backend and React on the frontend, focused on the deployment and management of the incident listing. This work included the correct display of information, considering localization, the need for image uploads by the client, and the incorporation of a tracking system to monitor the status of each incident.

Additional tasks included more specific activities such as the automatic generation of CSV files that store ICC calculations, updating password security requirements across all production portals, and modifying and updating certain features in specific versions to improve overall performance. Additionally, migrations to the current database were carried out, and the structure of the migrated website was adjusted to ensure its proper functioning.

Active participation in the weekly presentation of each version’s updates to the stakeholders, representing the team and ensuring clear and effective communication about the project’s progress and updates.
